Event Picnic Central 2023-24
A picture is worth 1000 words! That’s how one can relate to this year’s Picnic ! True to their tag line – “Masti , Mazaa , Music” , the PICNIC committee organised a fun-filled and entertaining Picnic. After several potential venue visits , the committee shortlisted Moneteria Village , Khalapur (Khopoli) as the final venue for the Picnic. Monteria village is a unique destination which offers the visitors an opportunity to explore the typical village life in Maharashtra.
This year too, the Picnic was an overnight event with good participation from the MPF members. The day started early on 06th Jan in the morning with registration and welcome at 9:30 a.m. As the members started trickling in , they were in for a pleasant surprise for a traditional welcome and entry in the resort with Dhol music and flowers.
A unique “murder mystery” activity planned by the committee kept the members on their toes in the first half of the day. This activity engaged the members in team bonding and gave them an opportunity to explore the resort as well. A sumptuous lunch followed by couple of hours of rest after the morning activity was the ideal way to relax and bond with friends.
The afternoon proceedings kicked off with Hi-Tea followed by AGM. AGM began with an inquisitive quiz game followed by felicitation of kids and MPF members for their achievements. The President, in his address to the members, gave a well rounded update about the various events organised by the various committees throughout the year.
Post AGM, the Picnic committee came up with the most exciting part of the Picnic – “Nach Baliye” . This was a unique couple oriented dance activity which was throughly enjoyed by all. Even the little champs were seen dancing and matching the moves of their parents. It was one of a kind, enthralling and fun, activity. A late night movie after dinner was the icing on the cake to end the day past midnight.
The next day morning started early with a “Hawaiian” theme pool activity. While the kids enjoyed the pool swim, the parents were busy taking pictures to be on their Insta and WhatsApp statuses.
Overall, it was a fun-filled and memorable picnic for all members. The committee was so pleased to see the smiling faces and satisfaction while the members departed. That was the true appreciation for them!
