Event Gift of Education 2023-24
MPF is an organisation of professionals like doctors, CA, engineers, architects, advocates, consultants etc. MPF works towards empowering women, guiding and helping young and students in their pursuit of carrier in and also provide financial assistance to needy students for their higher studies. Mahesh Professional Forum (MPF) Pune with Abhay Bhutada Foundation has organised Gift of Education on September 9 and 10, 2023. At Ganesh kala Krida Manch, Gift of Education event is organised every year by MPF. This is the only event which is self-funded. The intention of this event is to raise fund for entire course College fee of needy students for their degree courses. Till date MPF has contributed for more than 150 students and their aim is to contribute for additional 200 students in next 2 years. With this as an objective, this year GOE team started search for an event which would be aligned with our current Theme – “A Journey towards Culture and Commitment”. After lot of searches the team finalised Ramayan event (a live, thetoric, poetic event performed by various TV Actors).
Initially it was planned for 1 day, however considering the demand from members; we have decided to plan an event for 2 days. It was very difficult to get availability of Actors and auditorium for 2 days but due to help/support of MPF members we could even manage that.
On day 1 roughly 1900 people visited and Day 2 roughly 2200 people visited. The event started at 4 pm on both dates. All members and visitors were welcomed with Tilak on their forehead and Shank gunj. Total 20 Donors/Sponser were felicitated on stage. To all invitee Importance of GOE was explained before start of the play. Ramayan play was for 3 hours without break. We had handed over Diya to all attendee and we created an atmosphere of Ayodhya at end with Zenda and Shank Gunj. Delicious Food packets were handed over to everyone during the play.
In addition to this event, a new initiative was started by Team GOE to contribute on your special dates (Birthday, Anniversary, etc). Several members till date have contributed on their special day and already we have collected more than INR 2 lakhs through this initiative and in next 6 months we will collect more funds.
The total collection for this year through sponsorship, donation, ticket sale and contribution from each member reached INR 1.5 crores and net saving after all expenses would above INR 1 crore. This was way ahead of our expectation and several times more than earlier year contribution.
Abhay ji Bhutda in his closing speech said, he has not seen any such live event in history of Pune. Puneet Isaar in his closing speech said he has not seen such professional crowd in his history. It was his first Ramayan show in Pune. Chandanji lahoti gave a thank you note on both dates wherein he thanked our Sponsor, Donors, MPF Members, Auditorium, MOC, Event Manager etc.
The entire ceremony was organised by all Chapters of MPF, Pune, under the leadership of Omprakash Marda and Chandan Lahoti.
